Chart Linkage
Pivot table, line chart, column chart, bar chart, area chart, pie chart, and radar chart all support chart linkage. Any chart component with the same data source can be linked to the chart that initiates the linkage. To initiate the linkage, select a field or data in the main linkage table and the corresponding data will appear in the linked chart or table.
One common application scenario is to link a pivot table (which summarizes data) to other charts to view the corresponding detailed data for each piece of summary data.
To link the pivot table to other tables or charts, click the value in the dimension or measure in the pivot table and the corresponding data will be displayed.
Setting Procedure
To link a pivot table to other charts in a dashboard, first select a dashboard from your list, then click Edit of the pivot table. Go to Chart Linkage and select the charts you wish to link the pivot table to.
Demonstration
To view the linked chart data of a book view pivot chart, click the book name in pivot charr, in this case, Book A, Book B, Book C, or Book D, and the linked chart in the dashboard will display the data of that specific book.
Canceling Linkage
To cancel the linkage, click of the pivot table. This will remove the linkage between the pivot table and the linked charts and restore the dashboard to its original state.
