Triggering Check

When the settings in automations do not meet the presets, the system will trigger relevant checks.

Triggering Layer Check

Illustration: A triggers B, B triggers C, and C triggers D. This process forms 3 layers of triggering. If A is set as target form or D is set as triggering form, the layers of triggering will be more than 3.

If D is set as triggering form, the system will trigger The triggering form is a target form for other automations and has been nested for more than 3 layers when you click Complete.

Layer check needs to meet the rule: The trigger of next automation is equal to the triggered action of last automation.

Special cases description: On the premise that A triggers B and B triggers C,

When the triggered action of "A triggers B" is set as Create Record, the system can trigger the second automation normally when you add one or multiple data in B form.

When the triggered action of "A triggers B" is set as Update Record, the system will trigger the second automation only when you update one record of data in B form. The system will not trigger the second automation when you update multiple data in B form.

Triggering Loop Check

Direct Triggering

A, B, and C in the following represent 3 kinds of forms.

Direct triggering: If A in which you create data triggers B to create data, when B triggers A to create data, then the system will trigger loop check. If A in which you update data triggers B to create data, when B triggers A to update data, then the system will trigger loop check.

Indirect Triggering

Indirect triggering: If A in which you create data triggers B to create data and B triggers C to create data, when C triggers A to create data, then the system will trigger loop check. When A in which you update date triggers B to create data, B triggers C to create data, and C triggers A to update data, then the system will trigger loop check.

When C in which you create data triggers A to create data, the first loop is formed, which belongs to the first way to trigger loop check.

Conclusion

When the trigger of the first automation is same as the triggered action of the last automation and the triggers and triggered actions in middle parts are totally same(The trigger is to delete&The triggered action is to delete and the trigger is to update&The triggered action is to update...), the system will trigger loop check.

Note: When the triggered action of automations is to Update Existing Data, the system will not trigger the workflow. If you have used automations in your app, the relevant settings of automations will also be copied when you copy your app. At the same time, the system will calculate the automations' usage.
