Basic Settings for Dashboards

Introduction

Feature Overview

In an app, an admin who has permission to manage the app can edit and configure dashboards.

In dashboards, the admin can:

  • Rename dashboards.
  • Sort dashboards.
  • Create, copy, delete, edit, or favorite dashboards.

Prerequisite

Only admins who have permission to manage an app can configure dashboards. Members can only visit the permitted dashboards.

Creating a Dashboard

Creating in App with Existing Data

1. Create a dashboard directly.

To create a dashboard within an app that already has existing dashboards, click  next to the search bar and click New Dashboard.

2. Add a dashboard in a folder.

Click next to the folder where you want to create a dashboard, and select New Dashboard from the drop-down list.

Creating in App Without Data

If you intend to create a dashboard in an empty app, you will be directed to the page below. Then click New Dashboard.

Editing a Dashboard

There are two ways to edit a dashboard:

  • In the left navigation bar, click next to the dashboard, and click Edit.

  • Select the dashboard you want to edit, and click Edit.

Editing an Icon

To edit an icon:

1. Click next to the dashboard, and click Edit Name & Icon.

2. Click the current dashboard icon, and then choose a new icon from the drop-down list.

Renaming a dashboard

To rename a dashboard, click next to the dashboard, and click Edit Name & Icon.

Sorting Your Dashboards

Sort dashboards by dragging and dropping them. You can also move a dashboard into or out of a folder.

Copying a Dashboard

1. When copying a dashboard, you will copy all the charts and components and their settings in the dashboard.

2. You can only copy the dashboard to the current app.

3. When you copy a dashboard, the settings of Reminder will also be copied, but it is turned off after being copied.

Favoriting a Dashboard

To favorite a frequently-visited dashboard, click next to the dashboard, and click Favorite from the drop-down list.

Check the favorited dashboards in the workspace.

Deleting & Restoring a Dashboard

1. Delete an entire dashboard.

Click next to the dashboard you want to delete, click Delete, and enter the dashboard name to confirm the deletion action.

2. Delete specific charts/components within a dashboard.

On the Design page, select the components/charts you want to delete, and click Delete. Then click OK if you are sure to delete the components/charts.

Restoring a Dashboard

If your dashboard is deleted by mistake, initiate a request to contact our Support Team for paid restoration.
