Single Line

Introduction

Feature(s)

The Single Line field is the most basic and widely used one in forms. It can be used to collect words, numbers, serial numbers, and so on.

Application Scenario(s)

  • Enter brief information such as name, product name, company name, specification, and models.
  • Enter information that is a number and does not need or is not suitable for addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division calculation, such as phone number, ID number, employee number, bank card number, membership number, and so on.

Field Properties

Switching Field(s)

The Single Line field can be switched with the Single Select and Radio fields.

Format

Set the format of the Single Line field in Field Properties > Format. You can make validations when members fill in the form.

Initial Value

For a Single Line field, there are three options from the drop-down list of Initial Value: Custom, Data Linkage, and Formula.

1. Custom

Select Custom in Initial Value and enter relevant contents in the text box.

2. Data Linkage

Data linkage refers to retrieving data that meets certain conditions from other forms as the initial value of a single line field.

Select Data Linkage, click Data Linkage Settings, select the form to link and set relevant rules. For details about setting rules, see Data Linkage.

3. Formula

Set formulas for the Single Line field. It will automatically display the field value generated by the formula when members fill in the form.

Select Formula, click , and enter the formula going to use. For details about how to use formulas, see Formula.

Scanning Code(s)

The Scan Codes feature is available for the Single Line field. To enter data into a Single Line field through code scanning, click Scan to enter in Field Properties. Then tap  to scan a QR code or barcode. After that, data will be automatically entered into the field.

If the data Jodoo20230713 is encoded into a QR code, the data will be entered into the Single Line field after you scan the code.

1. Modify the retrieved data.

If you need to modify the data, which were retrieved through code scanning and were entered in the field, tick Modify retrieved data. Otherwise, you cannot do so.

2. Select a scan type.

There are three scan types under Scan Codes, namely, Scan QR Code, Scan Barcode, and All. If you click All, both QR codes and barcodes can be recognized.

3. Add multiple sub-records.

You can scan multiple codes for the Single Line field in Subform. To do so, click the Single Line field, and then tick Scan to enter and Add multiple sub-records.

Note:

The Add multiple sub-records feature is only available for the Single Line field in Subform, instead that in a form.

Tap  to scan a QR code and enter a sub-record. Then keep tapping Scan Next to enter all sub-records before tapping Complete. As a result, multiple sub-records are entered.
