What is Gantt?
Gantt is a common type of chart used in project or task management to graphically represent the sequence and duration of a particular project through a list of activities and a time scale. Gantt charts can also be called crosswalk charts and bar charts. It uses a kind of bar chart to show the intrinsic relationship between the project, the progress, and the progress of other time-related systems over time, visually indicating the progress of a program and the gap between progress and the target.
When to Use Gantt?
Gantt can help managers figure out the remaining tasks of projects and evaluate the work progress. Gantt can also be applied to the data display of various appointment scenarios, for example, meeting room reservations and course reservation status.

How to Use Gantt?
Step 1 Creating a Gantt
Click Design > Gantt.
Step 2 Choosing Data Sources
Data sources supported by Gantt include forms from this application, forms from cross applications, and data tables from the data factory in this application.
Step 3 Configuring Field Settings
Dimension: Dimension is a required field, and you can add 1~ 20 fields.
Start Time - End Time: They are required fields and you can add one Date&Time field respectively.
Progress: It is an optional field. You can set one number field. When the value is one, it means the progress is 100%.
Selecting Time Precision
The Start Time and End Time precision support three units: Minute, Day, and Month. When different precision levels are selected, the Gantt chart automatically adjusts the display range of the progress bars according to the selected unit.
Minute:
The timeline is displayed with minute-level precision, allowing the progress bar to start or end at a specific time within a day.
Day:
Time is calculated using a full day as the minimum unit. The progress bar will start at 00:00 of the selected day or end at 23:59 of the selected day.
Month:
Time is rounded to the full month range. The progress bar will start at 00:00 on the first day of the month or end at 23:59 on the last day of the month.
Take the Product Plan Gantt View as an example, Product 1 has a start time of Dec 12, 2022, 09:30 and an end time of Dec 18, 2022, 18:30.
When the Start Time and End Time precision are both set to Minute, the display appears as follows:
When the Start Time and End Time precision are both set to Day, the display appears as shown below:
When the Start Time and End Time precision are both set to Month, the display appears as shown below:
Note:
Different precision levels can be selected for the Start Time and End Time.
Step 4 Setting Filters
For ongoing tasks, you can use filters to filter out the needed data.
Step 5 Configuring Settings
You can set Data Range, Data Label, and Legend to make the Gantt for optimal reading. Admins can now adjust column widths when editing Gantt charts, and these adjustments will be effective for users upon access.
Step 6 Setting Data Permission
If Data Permission is set for members in the data source form and Gantt sets Same Permissions As Source Form, members can view, edit, and add data details when they visit the Gantt.
Example
You can create a Gantt to reserve a meeting room.
Designing a Form and Importing Data
The data for reservations are shown in the below figure:
Adding a Gantt in the Dashboard
1. Click New Dashboard.
2. Rename the dashboard and create a Gantt. You can select the form just created as the data source.
3. Rename the component. Choose Same Permissions As Source Form from the drop-down list of Data Permission. Drag and drop fields to Dimension, Start Time and End Time. Set Sort Settings.
4. You can set Data Range, Data Label, and Legend on the right panel in Settings.
Publishing the Dashboard
After saving the Gantt component, go back to the Design page. Click Publish in the upper right corner to publish it to members. Only the ticked members can see the dashboard.
Demonstration
1. PC
If the ticked members visit the dashboard, they can view the Gantt and use the Gantt. Members with permissions can:
Click Gantt to view the reservation details.
Click the top right corner to add data.
Adjust the Gantt scaling by drag and drop the lower right corner.
