Chart Sorting

Learn how to sort charts

Updated over a week ago

When using the dashboard, you need to sort the chart data to have a better data view and management.

When to Sort Charts?

Chart sorting can be applied in a wide range of scenarios, such as:

  • In education management, you may need to rank the grades of the student in descending order.

  • In production management, you may need to sort the products according to the production date from early to late.

  • In sales management, you may need to rank the sales of each group from high to low.

What Does It Look Like?

As shown below, sort the total sales of each salesperson in descending order to check the ranking of the sales.

Where to Set?

There are two ways to set the chart sorting:

1. When designing a chart, click the button to sort the data.

2. Click on any measure or dimension fields. You will find Sort in the drop-down list of the supported field types.

  • If it is a Number field, the records will be sorted from small to large.

  • If it is a Single Line or Multi Line field, the records will be sorted alphabetically from A to Z.

  • If it is a Date&Time field, the records will be sorted by time from new to old.

  • If it is a Member, Members, Department, or Departments field, the records will be sorted according to the member or department id.

3. Descending

If you select Descending, the records will be sorted following the order opposite of ascending order.
