When processing a pending workflow task, you may occasionally find that the task has already been processed or withdrawn. In such cases, you can no longer process the task.

There are currently two common scenarios in which a workflow task cannot be processed. When this happens, Jodoo displays an error message.

When an approver processes a workflow through My Tasks in Workspace or My Tasks within an app.

The approver may see a message such as: This workflow has already been processed by another approver.

An approver can also process pending workflow tasks through email notifications.

This usually happens because the workflow has already been processed. As a result, the current user is no longer an approver at the current node, or the workflow no longer requires any action from the user.The following sections describe the common causes and corresponding solutions.

When a node has multiple approvers and the Proceeding Rules under When there are multiple approvers is set to One approver submits, one of the approvers may process the task before the others.

Once one of the approvers performs an action such as Submit, Transfer, Return, or End, the other approvers can no longer process the same task. In this case, Jodoo displays the following message: This workflow has already been processed by another approver.

If you are processing the task in Jodoo, click Got it to close the message and refresh the page. The task will automatically disappear from My Tasks, and no further action is required. If you are processing the task through a notification card, close the message and proceed to the next pending task.

Under Workflow > Workflow Properties > Workflow Withdrawal Rules, the withdrawal rule can be set to Only the start node allowed or All nodes allowed.

If the workflow initiator withdraws the workflow while an approver is reviewing it, the approver will no longer be able to process the task.

After the initiator withdraws the workflow, the current approver can no longer process it. Jodoo displays the following message: This workflow has been withdrawn.

If you are processing the task in Jodoo, click Got it and refresh the page. The task will automatically disappear from My Tasks. Wait until the initiator resubmits the workflow before processing it again. If you are processing the task through a notification card, close the message and proceed to the next pending task.

Jodoo admins, or members with the required management permissions, can go to Manage Data to change workflow approvers, end workflows, or delete workflow records.

If an admin changes the approver at the current node to another member, ends the workflow, or deletes the workflow record, the original approver can no longer process the task. In this case, Jodoo displays: This workflow has already been processed by another approver.

If you are processing the task in Jodoo, click Got it and refresh the page. The task will automatically disappear from My Tasks. Because the approver has been changed or the workflow has already been ended, no further action is required.

If you are processing the task through a notification card, close the message and proceed to the next pending task.

You can configure Auto-submit under Overdue Actions for a workflow node.

If Auto-submit is triggered while an approver is processing the task, the approver can no longer process the workflow task manually.

After the task is automatically submitted, the workflow proceeds to the next node.

If the approver then opens the pending task, Jodoo displays: The task has been submitted automatically.

If you are processing the task in Jodoo, click Got it and refresh the page. The task will automatically disappear from My Tasks.The workflow has already proceeded to the next node, so no further action is required. If you are processing the task through a notification card, close the message and proceed to the next pending task.

You can configure Auto-return under Overdue Actions for a workflow node.

If Auto-return is triggered while an approver is processing the task, the approver can no longer process the pending task.

After the task is automatically returned, the workflow goes back to a previous node.

If the approver then opens the task, Jodoo displays: The workflow has been returned automatically.

If you are processing the task in Jodoo, click Got it and refresh the page. The task will automatically disappear from My Tasks. Since the workflow has been returned, wait until it is resubmitted from the returned node. You can continue processing it if the workflow reaches your node again. If you are processing the task through a notification card, close the message and proceed to the next pending task.

An approver can open a workflow from Manage Data or a permission set through Current Node, and then use Add Approver to add another member to the approval process. If the approver then clicks Current Node for the same workflow record from another Manage Data or permission-set page that was already open, a prompt may appear.

After another member is added as an approver, other pages that were already open do not refresh automatically. They may therefore continue to display the workflow's previous status. If you click Current Node at this point, a validation will be triggered and a pop-up message will appear:The workflow is being processed by the ad hoc approver.

If you encounter this issue in Jodoo, click Got it to close the message and refresh the page. The latest workflow status will then be displayed.
