When you install an app from outside your organization—such as from the Template Center or through a shared link—the app may include advanced features that exceed your current plan’s usage limits. Rather than blocking the installation or immediately disabling features, Jodoo places the installed app in a 15-day trial period so that you can evaluate it without interruption.
In brief:
Installing and using apps normally does not start a trial. A trial applies only when an externally sourced app causes the combined usage of advanced features to exceed the limits of your current plan.
What You Will See
If an installed app triggers the trial policy, a Trial badge appears in the upper-right corner of that app. The badge remains visible throughout the trial period.
How The Trial Is Triggered
A trial begins when the advanced features used by a newly installed app, combined with the advanced features already used by your account, exceed the allowance included with your current plan. The newly installed app will then be marked as Trial until the 15-day period ends.
The following advanced features can trigger this policy when they result in usage beyond your plan limit: Aggregate Tables, Custom Print Templates, Cross-App Data Retrieval, Custom Submission Success Pages, Handwritten Signatures, Data Factory, Automations, and Dashboard Data Alerts.
What Happens During The Trial
The app trial period lasts 15 days. Admins can click the Trial badge to view the number of days remaining.
While an app is in its trial period, usage of its trial-eligible advanced features is excluded from the account’s system-wide usage calculation. As a result, this usage will not cause the account to enter a grace period or result in feature restrictions or disablement.
Apps that are currently in a trial period cannot be duplicated.
When The Trial Ends
When the 15-day trial period ends, the advanced features used in the app will be included in the account’s system-wide usage calculation.
If the account exceeds the usage allowance of its current plan after this calculation, it will enter the grace period.
How To Resolve Over-limit Usage
If the end of a trial causes your account to exceed its usage limit, follow the same process used for other system over-limit cases. You can either reduce use of the features that are over the allowed quantity or upgrade your plan to obtain a larger advanced-feature allowance.
Option | Appropriate when | Result |
Reduce feature usage | You do not need all of the features currently over the limit. | Usage is brought back within your current plan allowance. |
Upgrade your plan | You need to keep using the additional advanced features. | Your account receives a higher usage allowance. |
