What is Multi Languages?
Multi-language Management supports batch translation and centralized management of multilingual UI text within an app, making it easier to manage and maintain multilingual content at scale.
App admins can centrally manage and maintain multilingual text in App Management > Multi Languages.
Form/dashboard builders can switch to the target language while designing a form or dashboard and edit the corresponding text in real time, without maintaining separate versions of the same app or form for different languages.
Form/dashboard users can view and use the interface in the corresponding language and complete operations such as form filling smoothly.
Multi-language Management helps resolve issues such as inconsistent multilingual interfaces and inconvenient content maintenance. It supports cross-border collaboration within the same app, improves the efficiency of multilingual collaboration and management, and reduces the cost of global operations.
When to Use Multi Languages?
Multi-language Management can be used in the following scenarios:
Members within the same organization can flexibly switch the interface language in the same app to meet multilingual usage needs.
Service providers can maintain the app logic directly within the same app, making it easier to deliver overseas projects.
Forms and dashboards can support multiple languages, allowing businesses to directly serve customers and distributors in different countries and remove language barriers in cross-border collaboration.
Existing Jodoo templates can be adapted with only minor changes to support different languages, enabling efficient template reuse.
What does it look like?
For app admins: With Multi-language Management, admins can centrally translate and maintain text across apps, forms, and dashboards.
For form users: After users switch their personal language, the same app, form, and dashboard will automatically display text in the corresponding language.
How to Set Up
Users with management permissions for the current app can enable Multi-language Management in App Management and centrally manage translations for the app's UI text.
Step 1 Enabling Multi-language Management
Open an app, click App Management, and go to Multi Languages > Configure.
Step 2 Setting the Building language and Adding Languages
1. Select the Building language and Languages to be added so that you can translate the app and form text into the required languages.
Building language: Select the language you use to build the app. Any untranslated text will be displayed in this language by default.
Languages to be added: These are the languages you want to translate the app into and support in the app.
2. After entering the Multi-language Management page, you can also click Set Language on the right to modify the language settings.
3. Click Default Language to change the current default language to another language that has not been added under Languages to be added, as shown below:
Step 3 Translating Text
There are two ways to translate text in forms, dashboards, and apps: AI Translation and Manual Translation.
Multi-language Management supports translations for App Navigation Bar, Form/Dashboard, and Aggregate Table.
1) AI Translation
With AI Translation, you can automatically translate translatable text with one click, making it faster and easier to complete multilingual content and providing a better experience after users switch languages.
Note: Each run only translates text that has not yet been translated.
2) Manual Translation
1. If an AI-generated translation does not meet your needs, you can manually edit it in Multi-language Management. Click the text you want to edit and modify the translation.
2. You can also hover over the corresponding translation and click
to modify the content directly.
More to Know
If you copy a form to another app, its translations will not be carried over, even if Multi-language Management is enabled in the target app. You need to configure the multilingual content again in the target app.
If a member's personal language has not been configured for an app, form, or dashboard, or if the corresponding translation is empty, the system will automatically display the text in the Building Language.
When you edit a translation while using a specific personal language, translations in other languages will not be updated automatically. If you modify text in one language, you need to manually update the translations in other languages.
For example, if a user's personal language is English and the English text is modified, the French and Spanish translations will not be updated automatically. You need to manually update the French and Spanish translations in Multi Languages.
The following content currently does not support translation:
Rich Text, custom text in conditions, option values, data import/export, Front-End Events, Contacts, Record Title, print templates, and Notifications > Notification Content.
Formula-related content, including Initial Value > Formula, aggregate calculation formulas, Node Submission Conditions, Validations on Form Submission, and formulas used in Smart Assistant or Aggregate Tables.
