Basic Settings of Stats Charts

You can use statistics charts to aggregate and analyze data in forms by using different types of charts, for further work planning.

Terminology Explanations

1. Data Source

Data sources are forms that you need to aggregate and analyze.

2. Fields

Fields in statistics charts are from the default data source. Fields are usually used as dimension fields and measure fields in statistics charts by drag and drop. Additionally, you can click  to add measure fields.

Formulas in statistics charts support arithmetic operators, which are additions (+), subtractions (-), multiplications (*), and divisions (/), and the SUM, AVERAGE, MAX, MIN, and COUNT functions.

3. Dimension

Dimensions refer to the perspective of data analysis. For example, you can analyze the change in sales in different months/years and analyze sales in different cities. Months/years and cities in the above example are dimensions.

Analyzing data from different dimensions can help you have a comprehensive understanding and knowledge of collected data and facilitate your plan and decision-making.

4. Measure

Measures quantify the dimensions. Through dimensions, data is analyzed from different perspectives, while measures are the results of dimension analysis, which are usually numbers.

For example, sales in different months/years and sales ratios in different cities are measures, which help you view the output precisely and measure the results.

5. Filters

You can click Filters to filter data in statistics charts and display data that meet filtering conditions.

Members can check data by selecting All Form Data.

6. Chart Type

After setting dimension fields and measure fields, you can select the chart type. The supported chart types include Indicator, Pivot Table, Line Chart, Column Chart, Bar Chart, Area Chart, Pie Chart, and Radar Chart.

7. Actions

Only Indicator and Pivot Table support setting Actions, and the Export Data function is enabled by default.

8. Chart Linkage

After selecting chart types, you can set Chart Linkage and select charts with the same data source (all types of charts with the same data source are supported).

9. Data Display

You can display the first N records of charts.

10. X-axis

You can choose the display orientation of label names for the X-axis including Horizontal, Vertical, Left Tilt, and Right Tilt.

11. Y-axis

You can set maximum and minimum values for Y-axis.

12. Label Field

Label Field is usually enabled to display the data values or names.

Statistical Charts

1. Setting the Chart Name

The default name is Untitled Chart and you need to click the upper left corner to rename.

2. Changing the Data Source

Click Change in the upper left corner to change the data source for statistical analysis.

3. Adding Custom Measures

Click  beside Fields and then edit the formula.

4. Setting Dimensions

a. Adding dimension fields

Drag and drop fields from the left panel to Dimension.

b. Sorting dimension fields

Sort dimension fields by drag and drop.

c. Setting dimension fields

Put the mouse pointer on a field, click , and then you can delete it.

Click a dimension field and it will show Change Display Name and Delete Field. Then you can click Change Display Name to modify the name or click Delete Field to delete it directly.

If there are Date&Time fields, you can set fields by clicking the fields and select Aggregation. The aggregation ways include Year-Month-Day, Year-Week, Year-Month, Year-Quarter, and Year.

5. Setting Measures

a. Adding measure fields

Select a field from the left panel and drag and drop it to Measure or add a custom measure in Fields and then drag and drop it to Measure.

b. Sorting measure fields

Sort measure fields by drag and drop.

c. Setting measure fields

You can click a measure field and it will show Change Display Name, Delete Field, Aggregation, Advanced Computing, Data Display Format, and Sort.

  • If the measure field is a Number field, you can click Aggregation to select the following ways: Sum, AVG, Max, Min, Count, and Dedupe. If it is not a Number field, you can click Aggregation to select Count or Dedupe.
  • You can select Numeric or Percentage to display aggregated results.
  • The Data Display Format includes the predefined formats, Numeric and Percentage, and the custom format.

6. Filters

You can add filters to click Filters to filter data in statistics charts and display data that meet filtering conditions. For details, see Filter.

7. Chart Type

There are twelve chart types including Indicator, Pivot Table, Line Chart, Column Chart, Bar Chart, Area Chart, Combo Chart, Scatter chart, Bubble Chart, Pie Chart, Radar Chart, and Funnel Chart.

8. Data Display

When analyzing a large amount of data, in many cases you only need to view a part of the data.

If you have hundreds of thousands of partners’ sales and want to know which partners are the most important ones, you can use this function to check whose sales are higher than others.

For example, you can set how to display partners’ sales in the chart. You can set the chart to display the top 10 partners’ sales or 5 partners’ sales.

9. X-axis

When label names are too long, they may be displayed incompletely. You can customize the display orientation of label names to make them complete and clear.

10. Y-axis

You can customize the maximum/minimum values below Y-axis or the system will intelligently generate appropriate values.

After you customize the maximum/minimum values, you can view the comparison between data obviously. For some data whose changes are small, you can view data fluctuations clearly.

After you set the maximum/minimum values, filled data below the minimum value or above the maximum value will not be displayed. It is recommended to choose the default method, so the system will automatically adjust the axis size according to the filled data by default.

11. Label Field

Administrators can set the content of Label Field based on their demands.

Note: The custom label setting of the pie chart does not take effect on mobile and the model version shows all content of the label.

Changing the Charts Size and Position

After editing charts, you can adjust chart sizes and positions on the design page.

Customizing Column Widths of a Pivot Table

On dashboards, you can customize column widths of a pivot table, which helps you display data more efficiently.

Copying and Deleting a Chart

When you analyze data through dashboards, you may need to perform statistical analysis in multiple dimensions and create multiple charts. Nevertheless, there are often few differences between charts. In this case, you can copy charts and modify the details to reduce steps and improve efficiency. You can also delete charts when they are unnecessary.
