Quick Edit
Introduction
Feature(s)
The Quick Edit feature allows you to directly edit data in a table without going to the data detail page.
Application Scenario(s)
If you need to modify multiple records frequently and the contents that need to be modified are few, directly edit data in tables. The following scenarios are supported:
- Admins can edit data quickly on the Manage Data page.
- Members can edit data quickly in grid views in permission sets.
- Members can edit data quickly in spreadsheets in dashboards.
- Members can edit data quickly in the Stats charts, which support checking underlying data.

Setting Procedure
Where to Enable
Go to Extension > Advanced to enable Quick Edit. Then members can directly edit data in grid views, and admins can directly edit data on the Manage Data page without going to the data detail page.
Note:
The Quick Edit feature in grid views and on the Manage Data page is decided by the status of Quick Edit in Advanced. Quick Edit is enabled by default in new forms. If it is not enabled by default in former forms, you can enable itmanually. (Each form must be set separately.) After enabling, you can edit data quickly.
Where to Use
Edit data quickly on the Manage Data page or in grid views.
1. Edit on the Manage Data page.
Admins can edit data quickly in tables on the Manage Data page.
2. Edit in grid views
Members can edit and modify data in tables through permission sets. (Grid View and Gantt View are supported.)
Note:
For views that are not tables, you can not use the feature.
Editing Rule(s)
1. Supported fields
For all fields except Divider, Query Data, Select Data, and system fields, you can edit data directly on the Manage Data page and in grid views.
Note:
The Serial No. field can only be edited on the Manage Data page.
2. Validations
- When editing data quickly in tables through permission sets, you will trigger validations upon form submission, required field, value range, aggregate table, formula, data linkage, and automations.
- When editing data quickly on the Manage Data page, you will not trigger validations upon form submission, value range, required fields, duplicate value, aggregate table, automations, data linkage, and formula.
Above all, the rules of triggering validations and linkage are the same as those of editing data in the data detail page.
3. Rules for saving
The rule of Quick Edit is "real-time calculation and delay for two seconds". If you edit other fields of the same data after editing A field within two seconds, or you edit other fields after the calculation of A field within two seconds, it will be considered as one editing. After all contents have been calculated and completed, it will be submitted together. There will be one record in History.
If you do not operate as the above, it will be considered as multiple editing and submitted separately. There will be multiple records in History.
4. History
If you have enabled History, members can view History on the data detail page. Admins can also view History on the data detail page of Manage Data.
Operating Hotkey(s)
The following hotkeys are supported when you edit data quickly in tables.
Table Editing Permission(s)
Even if you have enabled Quick Edit, some members still cannot edit all/some data quickly in tables.
Because permissions in tables are the same as those in permission set. If members cannot edit data quickly in permission sets, they cannot edit data quickly in tables either.
