Basic Settings for Nodes

Introduction

After creating an automation, you can go to the design page to design a business process. This article will introduce basic operations on the page, including adding, deleting, copying nodes, and using tools in the toolbar. These instructions aim to assist users in designing processes in a faster and more proficient manner.

Automation Properties

Changes to form data made by an automation can trigger other automations within the same app. You can set specific rules to manage Trigger Linkage. The options include:

  • Trigger all automations: trigger all other automations in the current app via Trigger Linkage.
  • Trigger specified automations: trigger specified automations via Trigger Linkage.
  • Never trigger: not trigger any other automations in the current app.

Notes:

1. Automations Pro and Automation do not trigger each other.

2. If you choose Trigger all automations or Trigger specified automations, loop triggering or multi-layer nesting may occur. For details, see Trigger Validation.

Basic Settings

Adding Nodes

On the design page, you can add nodes to run different types of tasks. Hover your cursor over a node or a connection line, and will appear. Click the button to add an action node to your automation.

Changing the Order of Nodes

When you need to change the order of nodes, you can drag the nodes to any desired position.

Deleting Nodes

Hover your mouse cursor over the node you want to delete, and click.

Note:

If you delete an Add Path node, all nodes on its paths will be deleted. If there is only one Add Path node, deleting it will remove the whole path.

Copying Nodes

For those nodes that have the same or really similar property settings, you can copy them and then modify their settings to quickly create an action node. To copy a node, hover your mouse cursor over the node, and click Copy.

Note:

When you copy an action node, all its node properties and the node name will be copied.

Pasting Nodes

Hover your mouse cursor over a node or a connection line, click, and then select Paste Node to paste the node under the existing node.

Notes:

1. Add Path nodes only support same-level pasting.

2. During the pasting, even if the copied node has been modified, you can still paste it with the latest attributes.

Renaming Nodes

To better understand the function of each node, you can rename action nodes.

Jumping to the Source Form

If you need to check or redesign the triggering/target form when setting trigger/action nodes, click

to jump to the design page of the form directly.

Note:

For an Add Plugin node, you cannot click to jump to the design page.

Toolbar

Number of Used Nodes

In designing an automation, when the number of used nodes reaches 40, the current number of used nodes will be displayed in the top left corner of the toolbar. When it reaches 60, the node count will be highlighted in yellow to remind you to avoid exceeding the limit.

Undo/Redo

You can click(Undo) to undo an operation, and click(Redo) if you want to redo an undone operation.

You can also undo or redo operations through Hotkeys:

  1. Undo
  • macOS:⌘+Z
  • windows:Ctrl+Z

2. Redo

  • macOS:⌘+Y
  • windows:Ctrl+Y

Note:

Undo/Redo is limited to basic settings such as adding, deleting, sorting, copying, and pasting nodes. It does not extend to redoing or undoing changes made to the configurations of node properties.

Zoom In/Out

The Zoom in/out feature allows you to adjust the display scaling you want for the process-designing page. Available scaling levels include 50%, 75%, 100%, 125%, 150%, and 200%. There is also a Fit option available, which sets the zoom level to 100%, ensuring the page fits perfectly within your view.

Hotkeys

Use Hotkeys to improve the design efficiency.

Automation Note

Add some descriptive notes for your automation, so that other members can better understand how the automation is designed.

After adding a note, you can check it directly in a corresponding card on the App Management page.

Note:

When you copy an automation, its note will be copied.

Saving

Besides Save Only, there are also two other options: Save & Enable and Save & Publish. The system will display either of these buttons based on the status of the automation.

Here are the details:

Option

Description

Save Only

Only save the current design, and do not affect the run of your automation.

Save & Enable

When your automation has not been enabled, click the button to publish and enable your current design, so that the automation runs based on the latest design.

Save & Publish

When your automation has been enabled, click the button to publish the updated version, so that the automation runs based on the latest design.

Notes:

1. After you publish a new design, any new data will be processed based on this latest version of design. Data that was added before the update will continue to be processed based on the previous version, thus ensuring the consistency of data and versions.

2. One Automations Pro can publish up to 400 versions.

Notes

1. The maximum number of nodes that can be added to each automation is 100. The following nodes, however, do not count toward this total.

  • The trigger node and the end node
  • Path Condition and Other Conditions nodes in Add Path.

2. The executing order of the trigger node and the end node cannot be altered. Additionally, if you attempt to switch the order of two nodes that reference each other, a pop-up prompt will appear to alert you of a configuration error, helping to maintain the correct setup of your automation.
