Creating a Form

Introduction

Feature Overview

You can create forms that suit your needs after determining the data to be collected.

Form Type

There are two types of forms: regular forms and workflow forms. Regular forms support collaboration and allow for permission settings for members, while workflow forms come with workflow configuration features. You can switch between them as needed.

There are two methods to create a form:

  • Create a form from scratch.
  • Create a form from Excel files (headers of the files will be set as field names by default).

Creating a Form from Scratch

When creating a form from scratch, you can add fields, and configure field properties and form properties as needed.

Create in Empty App

Select an empty app, and click New Workflow Form or New Form > Create from Scratch.

Create in App with Existing Data

Select an app with data, click , and click New Workflow Form or New Form > Create from Scratch.

Forms can also be created directly in a folder. Click the settings button next to the folder name, and click New Workflow Form or New Form > Create from Scratch.

Demonstration

Here is an example of creating a form from scratch in an app with existing data.

Creating a Form from Excel Files

If you have an Excel file, you can use it to create a form.

Create in Empty App

Select an empty app, and click New Workflow Form or New Form > Create from Excel.

Create in App with Existing Data

Select an app with existing data, and click the settings button next to the folder name, and click New Workflow Form or New Form > Create from Excel.

Demonstration

Characters in the first line of the imported Excel files will be used as field names. You can specify the data type of each field when importing the files.

Note:

When you create a form by importing an Excel file, the default name of the form is the name of the Excel file. If the form name exceeds 100 characters, it cannot be imported directly. You need to manually reduce the excess characters to successfully import the form.
