Parallel Workflow

Introduction

Functions

If you set the parallel nodes in a workflow, the approvers on the nodes will receive messages simultaneously and handle their own without disturbing each other. When all of them submit the workflow, the workflow will flow to the next node.

Application Scenarios

In vehicle application, all the approvers should fill in their approval comment respectively before the workflow flows to the next node.

If all the approvers should approve and submit a workflow simultaneously without the need of filling in their comment respectively, use Countersignature Workflow.

Preview

In vehicle application, both the administration department and the finance department should approve the workflow before it flows to the next node.

Setting Procedure

Designing a Workflow

Take the vehicle application form as an example and click Edit.

Click the form to view the content of the form. Different contents should be handled by different approvers.

How to Set

1. Setting the field permissions

Configure different field permissions to different nodes because the content that the approvers can view and edit is different.

2. Setting the approvers

Apart from the start and end node, you should select approvers for each node.

Submitting a Record

1. Submitting the workflow

Submit a record in the workflow form, in which you select approvers.

2. Approving the workflow

Each approver should go to My Tasks, and then approve and submit the workflow.

Preview

If only one approver approves the workflow, click Chart and you will notice that the workflow does not flow to the next node.

If all the approvers submit the workflow, the workflow will flow to the next node.

For details, see Designing.

Notes

1. If one approver returns the workflow, the other approvers can still approve and submit the workflow, but it will not flow to the next node.

2. When you re-submit the returned workflow, it will go to the original node automatically. After all approvers approve and submit the workflow, the workflow will flow to the next node.
