Using Subform Data to Create Subform Data

Introduction

Functions

Create or update data in the fields of a subform and you can create data in the fields of another subform through automations.

Application Scenarios

  • In order management, order details are recorded in the subform of the Order Form. When there is a new record, those order details will be added to the subform in Outbound Form through automations.
  • In warehouse management, transfer details are recorded in the Warehouse Tranfer subform. When there is a new record, automations can help create outbound details in the subform in Outbound Form. Also, the setting of transfer outbound is same with that of transfer inbound.

Setting Procedure

Example: transfer outbound in warehouse management.

Creating a Form

1. Create a Warehouse Transfer form first and add a Transfer Details subform.

2. Create a Outbound form and add an Outbound Details subform.

Setting Automations

1. Selecting a trigger

Create an automation and rename it. Click Create Record in Configure Trigger, select the Warehouse Transfer form as Triggering Form, and click Complete.

2. Selecting a triggered action

After configuring trigger, click Create Record. Select the Outbound Form as Target Form and set subfields in the Outbound Form to those in the Warehouse Transfer form. After finishing all settings, click Complete.

Demonstration

Enter data in the Warehouse Transfer form:

Through Automations, outbound details can be added to the Outbound form automatically:

Notes

  • When adding multiple records in the subform of the triggering form, you need to created multiple records in the target form.
  • If the triggering form includes multiple subforms, the same subform in the target form can only be set by using subfields of one subform in the triggering form.
  • For details about automation assignment rules, see subform assignment rules.
