Importing Data of Special Fields

Introduction

For some special fields, special handling may be required during the importing process. To prevent potential mistakes, read the article before importing.

These special fields include:

  • Date&Time
  • Checkbox and Multi Select
  • Subfields

Date&Time Field

When you import date and time into Jodoo through Excel, the data can be automatically set as the Date&Time field type if any of the following conditions is met:

  • The cell in Excel is formatted as a date.
  • The text entered in Excel is in a date format.

Formatting the Cell

In Excel, format a cell as a date. Then the imported data will be recognized as a date format.

Conforming to the Standard Date Format

When you import data into Jodoo, the date format recognition has been optimized to accommodate various formats.

The standard date format is "YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS", such as "2015-04-20 00:00:00".

  • In addition to the standard format, Jodoo also supports the following date formats:
      • "YYYY.MM.DD" ( such as "2019.07.09")
      • "YYYY/MM/DD" (such as "2019/07/09")
  • The hour, minute, and second values are optional. This means that the year, month, and day can be recognized without the hour, minute, and second. The second is also optional, and the hour and minute can be recognized without the second.
  • Jodoo's date format recognition is flexible with regards to the digit representation. It can recognize both single-digit and double-digit values for the month, day, hour, minute, and second. For example, "07" and "7" will be recognized as the same month or day.

Checkbox & Multi Select

Checkbox and Multi Select fields include multiple options. You can enter multiple values in one Checkbox or one Multi Select field.

  • In Excel tables, different options should be separated with a comma (,).

  • When importing data, select fields whose field type is Checkbox or Multi Select.

  • Then click Import.

SubForm Fields

For data containing subform fields, you can use a standard template to fill in data before importing. Each row represents a record in a subform. Depending on the structure of your subform, you may need to merge cells for the corresponding fields.

After completing the import, click a record to view details.

Note(s)

1. If the imported data does not contain the Member/Members field, the import limit is 50,000 rows * 500 columns.

2. If the imported data contains the Member/Members field, the import limit is 10,000 rows. Subform details also occupy rows.

3. When you import data with subform data, you need to ensure that the subform has at least two fields before importing data.
