Introduction
In Jodoo, an organization is like a safe protected by multiple combinations, while permissions are the keys used to open it. Different permissions determine how many layers a member can unlock and how much information they can access.
This article introduces the different categories of permissions in Jodoo and explains the permission relationships among members of a Jodoo organization, helping you gain a deeper understanding of Jodoo’s permission system.
Permission Categories
From a usage perspective, permissions in Jodoo fall into two main categories: admin permissions and member permissions.
1. Admin Permissions
Admin permissions include Contacts management permissions and app editing permissions.
Contacts Management Permissions
Contacts management permissions include the permission to add admins and the visibility and management permissions for depts and roles.
In Jodoo, the Business Owner and Super Admins can appoint Super Admins and Regular Admins. They also have full visibility and management permissions for Contacts. Regular Admins, however, have visibility and management permissions only for specified depts and roles.
App Editing Permissions
App editing permissions refer to the permissions required to build and configure a complete app. These include permissions for app settings, form design, workflow configuration, dashboard design, and other app-building operations.
In Jodoo, both Super Admins and Regular Admins can be granted app editing permissions.
2. Member Permissions
After an app has been built and published by an admin, regular members can access its forms and dashboards. Based on the permissions assigned by the admin, members can also view and manage business-related data in forms, workflows, and dashboards.
Member permissions therefore include access permissions and data operation permissions.
Access Permissions
Access permissions determine whether members can access Jodoo apps and dashboards.
Data Operation Permissions
After admins assign the appropriate permissions, regular members can perform operations on form, workflow, and dashboard data, such as adding, editing, printing, and exporting data.
Permission Relationships
From the perspective of the Jodoo organization as a whole, the relationship between admin permissions and regular member permissions is shown below.
