Data Source

Introduction

Functions

Data source is the source of data.

Type

There are three types of data sources in Jodoo:

In a data factory, data calculation only allows setting forms in the current app or in the cross-app as data source. The other two types of data sources allow no data processing.

Setting Procedure

Creating a Data Source

Before analyzing data through a data factory, it is clear what data needs to be analyzed. The data must be in Jodoo and if not, the data needs to be collected through forms.

1. Collect data through forms

You can either create a form and publish it to members to fill in data, or collect information from the public through Form Fill Link. For example, forms can be used to gather basic information of employees:

2. Import data from Excel

If the data is not stored in Jodoo but in Excel, the data in Excel needs to be imported into Jodoo for analysis.

You can import data by selecting Create from Excel when creating a form and then analyze it. The headers in the Excel corresponds to the fields in Jodoo.

Only the data in Jodoo can be processed by Data Factory, so no matter what data we want to analyze through Data Factory, we need to find a way to add the data to the form.

3. Select data from cross-apps

If some data to be analyzed are not in the current app but in another app, you need to obtain data analysis permission of forms in that app in App Management > Cross-App.

Setting steps are as follows:

Demonstration

You can analyze the collected data in the data factory. See the section "Preview" above.

Notes

1. The data source of the data factory can only be selected through the input node.

2. You can only select one data source in an input node. If you have multiple data sources to analyze, you need to add multiple input nodes.

3. If the data source contains multiple subforms, only one subform can be selected at a time. If multiple subforms all need to be analyzed, you can create multiple input nodes and select them separately.
