Sales Record Reporting and Analysis

Introduction

This chapter is to describe how to collect and analyze data through a case of reporting and analyzing sales data in Jodoo.

Case Introduction

Traditionally, chain stores used Excel to report daily sales data and each store needed to build its own worksheet. Actually, only the names of each worksheet are different while the structures are the same in data management. Keeping creating multiple sheets causes a waste of resources, and it is difficult to manage, update and view data in real-time.

In Jodoo, you can report data of chain stores with only one form.

How to Design

Firstly, we need to determine what statistical analysis is to be carried out and what permissions need to be set when reporting sales data.

  • Each store enters daily sales data.
  • Managers of each store can update the data of their stores.
  • Make daily and monthly reports for each store based on reported data and summary all sales data of all stores.
  • Members of each store can only view the data of their own stores, and the management can view all data of all stores.

Given this, the keyword/tab/label/dimension which can aggregate data are "date" and "store name".

When we enter all data into a form, we can easily differentiate them through the labels attached to each record and retrieve them for analysis when needed.

Setting Procedure

Collecting Data by Form

1. Each store needs to enter daily sales data, so you can design a form as follows:

2. After the managers of each store submits the daily sales data through the form, the data will be aggregated in Manage Data for viewing:

Managing Data through Permission Set

1. Set different permissions in Publish > To Members for each store manager so that these managers can manage the data of their stores.

2. The store manager can add, delete, or update the sales data when accessing the form.

Analyzing Data through Dashboards

1. Based on reported data, you can make daily and monthly reports of each store through detail tables in a dashboard, where the aggregated data of all stores can be displayed.

2. Store data can also be aggregated monthly as follows.

3. The sales ratio of each store can be counted in a pie chart in a dashboard, making data management more efficient.

Permission Set(s) of Publishing and Viewing Data

You can set Access for the form as the data source in the dashboard. If you select All Form Data, members can view all data after the dashboard is published to them. If you select Same As Member, members can only access data according to the permission set in the form.

Therefore, through a form or a dashboard, you can easily report, manage and analyze data, and set data permissions. There is no need to create multiple Excels, or enter and view data by keeping sending files to each other.

Once the above settings are completed, the data entered later can be automatically stored in Manage Data. Members can query the latest data within their permissions in real time on mobile/PC.

Importing Data from Excel

If there is an Excel sheet, you can import data into Jodoo as follows. For details, see Importing Data.

  • Import an Excel sheet directly to create a form.
  • After customizing the form, import the data from Excel.

Note:

Before importing data, you need to organize the Excel file properly, with the title on the first row and the data arranged below them. Otherwise, data will not be imported smoothly.
