Filling in a form with shortcuts means that when filling in a form, you can press keyboard shortcuts to focus on, switch, select, and fill in fields.

Application Scenario(s)

When filling in a form, if a mouse is unavailable, you can use keyboard shortcuts to fill in data directly, improving the accuracy of the actions.

Setting Procedure

Rules of Using Keyboard Shortcuts in Radio/Checkbox

The followings are the rules for using keyboard shortcuts in Radio and Checkbox:

1. Press Tab to focus on the first option and press Esc to cancel the focus. Take the Radio field as an example:

2. When focusing on an option, you can switch options by pressing Tab, Up Key, or Down Key.

For example, you can switch options in a Radio field by pressing Tab.

3. After focusing on an option, you can press Enter to select the option and re-press Enter to cancel the selection.

For example, you can select Option 1 in Checkbox by pressing Enter, and re-press Enter to cancel the selection.

4. If there is an Others option, after focusing on the option, you can press Enter to select the option and fill in the Others box.

Rule(s) of Using Keyboard Shortcuts in Form Fields

The descriptions of the keyboard shortcuts used in form fields are as follows:

Scroll down to focus on a new object.

Scroll up to focus on a new object.

  • Multi Line: Change lines.
  • Other fields: Display the drop-down list, and you can select options from the list.

Esc

Cancel the focus action; close the drop-down list.

Up Key

Scroll up to focus on a new object.

Down Key

Scroll down to focus on a new object.

Left Key

Scroll left to focus on a new object.

Right Key

Scroll right to focus on a new object.

1. Single Line, Multi Line, and Number.

a. Press Tab to focus on the first field, and press Esc to cancel the focus.

b. In the Multi Line field, press Enter to change lines.

c. Press Tab to switch input boxes among Single Line, Multi Line, and Number fields.

  • If a form has a submit button, and you continue to press Tab after the last field is focused, the system will focus on the submit button.
  • If no other fields are available, you will focus on the first field.

2. Other rules.

a. When you fill in a form, if the following fields exist, the system will skip the fields and focus on the next one: Image, Attachment, Signature, Select Data, Query Data, Member, Members, Department, and Departments. Meanwhile, you cannot press Tab or Esc to focus on these fields or cancel the focus.

For example, the field following Single Line is Image. If you press Tab when focusing on the Single Line field, the system will skip the Image field and focus on the Number field.

Rule(s) of Using Keyboard Shortcuts in Subforms

The descriptions of the keyboard shortcuts in subform fields are as follows:

  • Single Line and Number: Focus on the same column field of the next record; add a new record and focus on the same column field of the next record.
  • Multi Line: Change lines.
  • Other fields: Display the drop-down list, and you can select options from the list.

Esc

Cancel the focus action; close the drop-down list.

Up Key

Scroll up to focus on a new object.

Down Key

Scroll down to focus on a new object.

Left Key

Scroll left to focus on a new object.

Right Key

Scroll right to focus on a new object.

1. When you press Tab to switch from Single Line to SubForm, you will focus on the cell (row one, column one).

Note:

The first field in a subform must be the field that supports being focused on. Otherwise, you cannot switch to the first cell by pressing Tab.

2. When you focus on a cell in the subform, press Tab to switch to other cells.

3. In any cell in the last row, if you press Enter, you will create another row, and the cell in the new row and the same column will be focused on.

For example, if you press Enter in the cell located in row two and column two, the third row will be added, and you will focus on the cell located in row three and column two.
